Starcamp

The start of another elk season. I took Teva and one of his friends. A good time was had by all, including the elk. No injuries or death to any parties involved. It rained during the days, then would clear up at night. One of the coldest opening weekends I’ve been in. Despite being soaked most of the weekend, both kids were great and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The plan is to go again this coming weekend.

Stacked

Stacked
Some rough wood for concrete forms on the bikepath. Struck me for some reason.

A Poor Substitute

A Poor Substitute
I’m up hear in Colorado/Wyoming, and I still see tubes everywhere.

My bow smote me the other day. The cable broke while I was at full draw and the thing blew up in my face. Sára thinks I should name my bow something like Rhonda. A tough chick name, since I still have a bruised lip. :)

I replaced the cable and string, and took it back out today. I’m still a shooter, I’ll be tuned up and ready to go by next Saturday.

A Good Day

Rebar A great day today.

Work was pretty cool, I learned a lot, not just about construction methods, but also some management/people skills stuff.

The weather was perfect, and I was outside most of the day.

I got free lunch which had tons of garlic.

Hung out with an old construction foreman, listening to stories about the old days.

A nice motorcycle ride over to Ron’s for chili.

Red chili at Ron’s.

I beat Ron at horseshoes.

He beat me back.

Followed by a lightning show from the back porch, while listening to Bob, and eating fresh cookies by Kendall w/ icecream.

Finished with a motorcycle ride into said lighting show and only getting a couple drops of rain before getting home.

A lot to be thankful for. Especially friends!

HDR-Breakdown

As requested, here are the three images taken to create the one below. All three were shot at f/10; at 1/640, 1/320, and 1/160 (dark to light).

I took a half day off work today and got icecream with the kids. I had Chocolate Fantasy and Baliey’s Cheescake in a chocolate covered wafflcone. It was beautiful. :)
